YEAR ONE SCHOOL CLOSURE HOME LEARNING

Handwriting Resources

Some parents have asked for resources to support the children with their handwriting and in particular resources to support children when joining cursive handwriting. Below you can find the CPET handwriting policy with useful information about letter formation, a sheet to guide the formation of capital letters and where these should start, an animated powerpoint presentation with pre-cursive (not joined) letter formation examples, and an online link to animations for joined cursive modelling. We hope this is useful.

Some of these resources were produced by TWINKL.CO.UK and they have given their permission for these to be shared on our website during this time.

Useful Word Mats

These word mats are used within the Year One classrooms to support children with their spellings during writing composition. Your children should be familiar with these and may find them useful to support their independence during home learning.
