Antarctic Visitor to Year Two

On Thursday 21st November 2019, James Miller from the British Antarctic Survey came to visit Year Two as part of their Ice topic! He shared lots of information about what it was like in Antarctica and what it was like to be on one of the research stations.  We found out all about the different types of jobs that there are in Antarctica.  He shared information about the wildlife that you can find there.  There was also a chance to see some of the clothing that scientists wear and some of the food that they eat.  The most exciting moment came when he gave each class some Antarctic ice that scientists had moved from deep in the ice sheet.  It was 800 years old! What an experience it was!
